In mid -May, the criminal court in Paris Gérard Depardieu sentenced to two women for sexual violence. Now a well-known celebrity photographer has sued the actor.
Gérard Depardieu has to answer to the court in Rome from June 17th. The reason is alleged legislements towards the well-known celebrity photographer Rino Barillari. The Italian accuses the Frenchman of insulting and beating him in a bar in Rome. Depardieu denies this. The lawyer who represents him in the case is silent.
The 80-year-old photographer, also known as the “King of the Paparazzi”, has persecuted, photographed world-famous stars and repeatedly conceded blows. Lady Diana, Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Lady Gaga, George Clooney, AdREY Hepburn were just a few of his motifs. Barillari is also known for conflicts with his targets. More than 160 visits to the emergency room, eleven broken ribs and over 70 destroyed cameras. Some of them apparently go to the account of the French actor Gérard Depardieu.
As Barillari claims, the incident in Rome took place last year. The French actor is said to have eaten together with a friend in the historic Harry’s Bar in Via Veneto in the Italian capital. Barillari visited him there to take photos.
Was it self -defense, self -defense or an accident?
“I waited for a while, then put my lens and started shooting. He didn’t like that,” Barillari described the alleged incident in one. Depardieu initially showed him the middle finger – according to a media report, there was a photo from the scene – and an ice cube thrown in the direction of the paparazzo. He also pronounced insults against the Italian. “I saw how he was getting angry. But I didn’t expect what came then,” said Barillari.
Depardieu and his accompaniment came to him. Depardieu then beat him three times. The photographer went down and was taken to the hospital with a wound on the left eye. “I can forgive his blows, but not the insult to Italians,” said Barillari on Tuesday.
Depardieu told the Italian newspaper “La Repubblica” that Barillari had pushed him. The lawyer of Depardieus tells a slightly different version at the time. Her client was “violated” that Depardieu intervened, “fell and slipped on the Paparazzo”.
Gérard Depardieu condemned for sexual violence
From June 17, the judges in Rome should decide in the case. It is the second legal process for Gérard Depardieu this year. In spring, the French actor had to answer for sexual violence before the criminal court in Paris. Two women, a stage designer and a director’s assistant, had accused him of sexually attacking her during filming.
The judges declared the 76-year-old guilty and sentenced him to 18 months in prison. They also ordered psychological treatment and registration as sex offenders.
The French actress Charlotte Arno was also accuses Depardieu of having sexually abused her for years. The investigation in the case was initially stopped, but then resumed. A third process is therefore not excluded.
