With a ballad, Dolly Parton thanked her died husband for life together. Now she tells what helps her in the difficult time after his death.
Dolly Parton is particularly grateful for her profession after the death of her husband. “It was a big blessing that I have my work,” said the 79-year-old “Entertainment Tonight”. She is busy with it and does not just fall within herself.
The singer and her husband were married for almost 60 years. “I fell in love with Carl Dean when I was 18,” wrote Parton on Instagram after his death. The couple met that day she moved to Nashville. The two married two years later in 1966. Dean stayed out of the public. He died in March at the age of 82.
“Find out how I can live without him”
“Of course I miss him. I now have to find out how to live without him because we were together for so long,” said Parton in an interview. Her husband has suffered a lot in recent years and in her “there is a part that is happy that he can now rest in peace”. But she will long for him “for the rest of my life every day, I’m sure”.
After the death of her husband, Parton published a ballad with the title “If you hadn’t Been there” (“if you were not there”). “After Carl’s death I thought:” I have to do something “. So I brought the song out to him as a tribute,” said the singer. Dean had already inspired her with her country hit “Jolene”.
