Did Freddie Mercury have a secret daughter of an affair?

It would be the sensation: Freddie Mercury could have a daughter. A woman provided diaries as an alleged evidence for this claim.

In a soon-released biography of Freddie Mercury, a 48-year-old woman claims to be the bodily daughter of the Queen singer. The author Lesley-Ann Jones, who has already published several books on Mercury, presents the previously unknown woman in her new work “Love, Freddie”.

British media like the “Mirror” report that the 48-year-old woman, who in the book only as “B.” is referred to and works as a doctor, even presented evidence for her claim. According to the reported, she was able to show diaries and personal letters from the musician – documents that Mercury is said to have handed over to her during his lifetime.

The woman claims: “Freddie Mercury was and is my father.” The author describes a close relationship with Mercury, which is cultivated for years. She saw him regularly, since her birth until his death in 1991. However, her existence has always been hidden from the public.

According to the author, the child was generated in 1976 during an affair between Mercury and the wife of a close friend. Only a small circle knew about it. The woman continues to report that Mercury had entrusted a total of 17 volumes of handwritten diaries in which he wrote down personal thoughts and memories.

The author believes the alleged daughter of Freddie Mercury

She says: “He entrusted me with his only child, his collection of private notebooks who capture his innermost thoughts, memories and feelings – about everything he experienced.”

The biographer Lesley-Ann Jones admits that she was initially skeptical about history: “My instinct was to question everything,” she told the “Daily Mail”. But after more than three years of collaboration, she was convinced that the information is authentic. “Nobody can have faked all of this. Why should she work with me for three and a half years without asking anything?”

According to the book, the first diary begins on June 20, 1976, the day on which Mercury is said to have learned about pregnancy. The entries range until July 31, 1991, a few months before his death. Among other things, they include memories of his childhood in Zanzibar, his school days in India and emigration to Great Britain.

Whether the information can be verified independently and whether the diaries are authentic sources remains open so far. In any case, the publication of “Love, Freddie” on June 19 is likely to initiate new discussions about the private life of one of the most dazzling personalities in music history.
