What is currently worth streaming-such as the science fiction comedy “Murderbot”.

A robot no longer wants to be a killer – and a photographer is on the trail of the organized murder.

In the science fiction comedy series “Murderbot” Alexander Skarsgard becomes a machine man with awareness and his own will. Actually, he should obey people, whose security ensure and, if necessary, kill. But now the cyborg has chopped itself and reprogrammed itself. Instead of taking on dangerous orders and murdering, he would rather see series in peace and relax in a relaxed manner over his protégés, which he considers unable and, above all, quite exhausting. “People are idiots,” says the machine man. When he is supposed to take on a number of dangerous orders, the difficulties begin, especially when he shows himself with a human face, a sweet face like the women find in the team.

Skarsgard plays the role of the reprogrammed killer robot very amusing, especially when he comments the behavior of humans. The ten episodes are based on the book series “Diary of a Killerbot” by Martha Wells and can be seen at Apple TV+. There is a new episode every Friday until July 11th.

“The photographer” (Prime Video)

When the Second World War ended 80 years ago, the pictures of the American photographer Lee Miller went around the world. She captured the horror in the liberated Dachau concentration camp, with excited, invalidated prisoners and mountains of corpses. Iconically became a photo that shows her in the bathtub in the former apartment of Adolf Hitler. The British Oscar winner Kate Winslet (“Titanic”) produced a film about the famous war rapporteur and took on the leading role. “The photographer” tells the events from the perspective of Millers and makes the horrors, but also the senselessness of the war. Alexander Skarsgard (“Infinity Pool”), Marion Cottillard (“Assin’s Creed”) and Andy Samberg (“Brooklyn Nine – Nine”) play in other roles. The biographical drama can currently be seen at Prime Video.

Homage to Rainer Werner Fassbinder (Arte)

The German filmmaker Rainer Werner Fassbinder would have been 80 years old on May 31. Arte shows two of his most important films in the media library and a documented documentary about actress Hanna Schygulla. “Lili Marleen” (1981, available from May 19) is the most complex cinema production production, an epic love story in the shadow of National Socialism. “The marriage of Maria Braun” (1979, May 27th) is a ingenious consideration of the post -war period and the economic miracle. The main actress of both films focuses on a documentary: from May 28th, the ARTE media library “Hanna Schygulla” will be available, a very personal portrait of one of Fassbinder’s favorite actresses.

“Freud – beyond faith” (MagentaTV)

London in September 1939. The Second World War just started. Sigmund Freud (Anthony Hopkins) fled to England with his daughter Anna Freud (Liv Lisa Fries) from the Nazi regime from Vienna. Anna, herself a psychoanalyst, supports her father unconditionally and neglects her own needs. A few days before his death, a scholar from the University of Oxford Freud pays a visit: the Irish literary scholar and writer CS Lewis (Matthew Goode), who will later get world fame with “The Chronicles of Narnia”. On this day, these two great thinkers of the 20th century have a controversial discourse on love, faith, the future of mankind and the all -important question for them: Is there a god?
