Bruce Springsteen’s criticism Donald Trump
In his Manchester concert, England, last week, Springsteen did not refer to Trump by name, but said he was leading “A corrupt, incompetent and traitorous administration”.
“Tonight, we ask all those who believe in democracy and in the best of our American experience that join us, they raise the voice against authoritarianism and let freedom resonate,” Springsteen said. He also described Trump as “incompetent president” who directed a “dishonest government.”
“The last brake on power after the failure of controls and counterweights is the people, you and me,” Springste in the concert attendees. “It is in the union of people around a set of common values; that is the only thing that separates democracy from authoritarianism.”
Trump responded by calling Springsteen a “dry and rotten rocker.” But Springsteen reiterated his criticisms in a later concert.
War footing against Donald Trump
Neil Young came out in defense of Springsteen on Tuesday, writing to the president on his website: “Stop thinking about what the rockers say. Think about saving the United States from the disaster you caused. Taylor Swift is right. Bruce too. You know how I feel. You are more concerned about yourself than for the United States. “
The leader of Pearl Jam, Eddie Vedderwas another of the artists who defended Bruce Springsteen during a concert in the middle of Donald Trump’s attacks against the legendary singer. “Part of freedom of expression is the open debate. Part of democracy is healthy public discourse. Insults are unworthy. Bruce has always been pro -American with his values and his freedom, and his justice has always remained intact. And I say this now to make sure that this freedom of expression continues to exist within one or two years, when we return to this microphone, ”said Vedder.
Trump had also published in Truth Social about Taylor Swift, stating that she was no longer “fashionable” after having said that he hated her after his support for Harris.
