Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway: A new life at the other end of the world

For Princess Ingrid Alexandra (21), who will one day be Queen of Norway, an exciting chapter of her still young life is imminent. The 21-year-old daughter of Crown Princess Mette-Marit (51) and Crown Prince Haakon (51) for at least three years to Sydney, Australia, draws a bachelor’s degree. What does the princess expect during this time – and why is the stay at the other end of the world an almost symbolic decision?

“Your royal highness is looking forward to devoting herself to her studies in the coming years,” says the statement of the palace. Her first semester begins in August of this year, she decided to study with “focus on international relations and political economy”.

Ingrid Alexandra apparently does not find out how to find out about the message. So she will also live for the duration of her studies like the other students in a dormitory on the campus. For the well -inserted princess, an exciting and challenging time is waiting in which she can live out in the middle of the same age and far from public pressure, but will also be asked a lot of personal responsibility.

The fact that she chose Australia for this experience speaks volumes. Geographically, she could hardly have moved away from her family and all the negative headlines that are currently relaxing around her half -brother Marius Borg Høiby (28).
