Harrison Ford and Gene Simmons are awarded for their commitment to Operation Smile.
When Hollywood legend Harrison Ford (82) and Kiss rock star Gene Simmons (75) are on a stage on June 3, it is not about a new blockbuster or a spectacular concert appearance. Instead, the two stars are honored for their many years of humanitarian commitment at the 25th Smile Fiesta Operation in Los Angeles.
The event in Candela La Brea becomes Ford with Dr. Randy Sherman Visionary Award distinguished, named after the deceased founder. Simmons receives the Universal Smile Award for its continuous support from the NGO. Both stars are longstanding supporters of the organization, which provides life -saving surgical interventions and health care for children in need.
In addition to Ford and Simmons, the Rodosky family is also honored with the Philanthropic Leadership Award, which also combines a long story with the non -profit organization.
Mission with a global range
1982 by Dr. Bill Magee and Kathy Magee founded, Operation Smile is a global non -profit organization that specializes in clever column surgery and care. The organization has been expanding its work in Latin America since 1991. The principle is that “safe surgery is not a privilege, but a universal human right”.
The Los Angeles Smile Fiesta will emphasize Operation Smile’s influence in twelve countries: Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Venezuela.
