Kaia Gerber and Cindy Crawford have to process a serious loss. Her beloved family dog Widget has died.
Kaia Gerber (23) said goodbye to the bitch with a touching homage with whom she grew up. Widget was at her side for 17 years. She was her “best friend forever,” said the model.
“Thanks for 17 joyful years”
In her Instagram story, the 23-year-old shared a video in which she gives her pet on childhood kiss on her head. “I say goodbye to my best friend forever. Thanks for 17 joyful years, little dancer.”
Her famous mother Cindy Crawford (59) had announced death on her Instagram account four days earlier. In it she announced: “I did not grew up with dogs and was actually afraid of dogs as a little girl, since I was bitten twice as a young girl. After getting children, I knew that I didn’t want to pass on my fear of dogs, so we got two little dogs – which were not too creepy.”
Cindy Crawford hopes that both animals will meet again in the dog’s sky
Until then, she did not know “how much fun little furry friends bring into family life”. She loved to watch her children play and cuddle with the dogs. “And when my children and our dogs got older, their friendly presence continued to enjoy our lives.”
After the bitch has already died, the family now has to say goodbye to “our little widget”. “She was a puppy for 17 years and we will miss her. Hopefully she and her ‘sister’ Sugar Endlos Snacks somewhere in the dog’s sky,” wrote Crawford about several pictures of the beloved four -legged friends.
Celebrities express their sympathy
Crawford’s posting triggered a shaft of sympathy. Several celebrities also expressed their condolences. Tom Hans’ wife Rita Wilson (68) wrote: “Oh, I’m so sorry. These beautiful creatures are a blessing in our lives.” Model colleague Paulina Porizkova (60) said: “17 years of unconditional love are something you have to mourn. I’m sorry for everyone.”
