“The Eurovision Song Contest has achieved its greatest effect on television, on digital platforms and in the streaming charts and consolidated its place as one of the most influential cultural events in the world,” said the EBU. Tikok and Instagram have both recorded around 1.7 billion views.

Since the voices of the TV viewers are not limited to the countries from the participating countries, the event is becoming increasingly evident into a global event. People from 146 countries would have voted this time, it said. Many votes came from the USA and Canada.

Austria won the final of the multi -day event with the countertenor JJ and his song “Wasted Love”. The Austrian siblings Abor and Tynna, who started for Germany, came 15th with “Baller”.
