The success band Abba had a surprise in her luggage for the third anniversary of the success show “Yoyage”. The fans were thrilled.
Abba is and remains cult. This is also evident at her concert show, in which ABBA digital avatars appear together with a live band on stage. The show takes place in the specially built ABBA-Arena in London and combines the latest technology with legendary pop music. Classics such as “Dancing Queen” and new songs from the album Voyage ensure a unique concert experience. For the third anniversary of the show there was now a surprise and a few changes.
However, the surprise not only consisted of four new songs in the setlist: “The Name of the Game”, “Super Trouper”, “Money, Money, Money” and “Take a Chance on Me” were added to the program. At the end of the evening there was a real surprise for the guests present, because the audience would never have expected this encore. The guests cheered with joy when they were told that for the anniversary, two real band members, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad, were in the hall.
And that’s not all: At the end of the ABBA-Voyage concert, Anni-Frid Lyngstad grabbed the microphone and addressed the audience with moving words: “Thank you for all your support over the years-it is hard to believe that there are already 50 or more. This year I will love you-thanks from the heart.”
Abba gave private concert in the garden after the show
After the virtual show, in which new versions of classics such as “Super Trouper” were heard, Benny sat down in a garden area behind the stage and played for a small group of invited guests. Elvis Costello and Guy Garvey alternately took over the vocals, while Anni-Frid, dressed in elegant white, enjoyed the intimate interaction as a silent observer. For a short, special moment, Elvis handed her the microphone-Anni-Frid and Benny were united for a few bars, while they enchanted the audience with songs such as “Knowing Me, Knowing You” and “The Winner Takes it all”.
