Sarah Jessica Parker reveals her educational philosophy: her children should become emotionally and financially independent.
Sarah Jessica Parker (60) gives rare insights into her family life and her educational philosophy, which was broadcast on May 28, the “Sex and the City” icon surprisingly spoke about how to prepare her three children for adult life.
“I really want my children to be formed in a way that fulfills them,” said Parker. “I don’t think there is only one way to be an educated person or to be equipped, to become an adult and try to make a life according to what is considered a ‘college degree’ – let’s say at the age of 22.”
Emotional and financial strength as a goal
The actress becomes remarkable: “You want you to pursue things that are exciting and challenging and difficult and satisfying and that you are ultimately able to provide yourself with supporting yourself – emotionally, financially, and that you can be in the world and a reliable person for yourself and for other people.”
Parker already converts this philosophy. Her eldest son James Wilkie (22) recently started his own acting career and performed in February together with his father Matthew Broderick (63) in an episode of the CBS series “Elsbeth”.
Father’s son-Sohn moment in front of the camera
Matthew Broderick, who has been married to Parker since 1997, described the time together with his son as a special experience: “It was great. We had two days together. It was really fun hanging around at the craft service and eating snacks. He was nervous, but he had overcome it for a few great days.”
It is important for Parker that your children have options in life. “I am curious to see what they will all do, but I hope that they feel – I hope all young people have the feeling – to a certain extent that they have choices and that there is not just one way.”
Twin daughters as a “control study”
In addition to James Wilkie, Parker and Broderick also have the 15-year-old twin sisters Tabitha Hodge and Marion Loretta Elwell. On April 21, Parker had spoken about her daughters in a humorous way and used an unusual picture.
“I think mine really likes,” said the “New Year’s Eve” star about her girls. “It is as if you are constantly in a control study because you have one of this type and one of this type.”
Down -to -earth education despite the limelight
Despite her life in the spotlight, Parker seems great emphasis on a down -to -earth upbringing. She emphasized that people could sometimes get an “unfair” idea of their twin daughters, but described them as “really interesting” and “really friendly and curious”.
The third season of “And Just Like That …”, the continuation of “Sex and the City”, including Sarah Jessica Parker in one of the leading roles will be available from May 29.
