Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence: Children of Comedystars have married

The children of two comedy legends dared to do: Eric Murphy (35), son of “Beverly Hills Cop” star Eddie Murphy (63), and Jasmin Lawrence (28), daughter of “Bad Boys” icon Martin Lawrence (59), said about two weeks ago in an intimate church ceremony.

“They went away, everyone made big wedding plans, and then they decided to only make something calm for both of them,” revealed Eddie Murphy about the wedding. His son and his current wife were only two with a pastor in the church. “It was a quiet little thing,” said the actor.

Of course, Eddie Murphy couldn’t help but help a little remark about the father of his new daughter -in -law: “Martin doesn’t have to pay for a big wedding now,” he joked. “We are now related!” The comedy colleagues had jokingly argued in the past about who had to pay for a possible wedding of their children.

Although the official wedding has already taken place, the fathers of the newlyweds still think of a major celebration. “I think we’ll have a big party or something,” announced Murphy. Moderator Jennifer Hudson joked whether he would sing at the celebration – which he categorically rejected: “No, I don’t sing … Martin will sing at the wedding. Yes, that would be fun.”

Eric Murphy and Jasmin Lawrence made their relationship public in 2021. The two had not met through their famous fathers, but through Jasmin’s uncle. On November 27, 2024, the marriage proposal followed: “We are engaged! God really blessed us with a love that feels like fate”. The couple shared a video that held the moment when Eric went to her knees in front of her.
