U2 frontman Bono took part in the rougere between Bruce Springsteen and Donald Trump – and chose clear words.

U2 front man Bono (65) has clearly commented on the latest tensions between music legend Bruce Springsteen (75) and US President Donald Trump (78)-and did not take a leaf out of his mouth. “I think there is only one boss in America,” said the Irish singer, as moderator Jimmy Kimmel (57), whose side he was in the dispute between Trump and Springsteen. The audience celebrated the allusion to Springsteen’s nicknames with loud applause.

The exchange of blows between Trump and Springsteen had started after the rock musician described the Trump government at a concert in Great Britain as “corrupt, incompetent and treacherous”. Trump reacted with a vague counter strike about his social media platform Truth Social, where he also demanded a “big investigation” against artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Beyoncé, Oprah Winfrey and Bono. They all publicly supported Harris in their presidential campaign.

Bono takes Trump-Post with humor

Bono took it with humor – and countered with a swipe on the platform of the president: “Truth social seems to be quite anti -social – and not particularly true,” he said. The musician suspects that he himself ended up on Trump’s list could have to do with his many years of commitment.

The musician of Trump’s handling of aid programs in particular criticized the US government since the Republican took office. “This is America that we love. And many conservative, very religious people who chose Trump are extremely disappointed,” says Bono and warns: “You are not happy and there will be trouble.”

Despite the political attitude, Bono emphasized that U2 never supported a candidate: “We never played or paid for someone – never.” He sees the naming of his name in a row with Oprah, Beyoncé and Bruce Springsteen – and with a wink: “In this band I like to play tamburine.”
