Vegan’s perfume for men: These fragrances do without animal ingredients
Isn’t every perfume vegan? Under no circumstances! The guide clarifies which animal products are in the fragrance water and which perfumes for men do without it.

- Honey and beeswax: Everyone knows and is often used in perfumes to give the fragrance a sweet note. In addition to beeswax and honey, other products such as propolis (bee resin) and jelly royal (feed juice for bee kings) can also be used in perfumes.
- Castoreum or “Bibergeil”: Castoreum is a substance that is obtained from the anal glands of beavers. It is mainly used in woody and leathery scents. The beavers must be killed to extract the fragrance.
- Zibet or Civet: Zibet comes from the Arabic and means translated: musk. And as with the musk, an animal is also involved in the Zetbet, namely the Zibetkatz is obtained from their anal glands. The fragrance is often used for warm and animal notes in perfumes – for the tremendous of the Zibetkatz, for which the extraction of the fabric is painful.
- Hyraceum or African Stone: Are the petrified excretions of the Klippschliefer. After all, the animals are not tortured for the extraction of the fragrance because it can be easily collected. The reason is strange: Klippschliefer are like Finch from the film “American Pie” and always see the same place for your business.
Vegan perfume: six fragrances without animal content
Good news in advance: Most of these fragrances can and are now synthetically produced. However, the manufacturers do not indicate whether this is the case. And also whether the cosmetics have been tested on animals or not remains mostly their secret. If in doubt about your favorite obstacle, you must therefore contact the manufacturer of the perfume. Otherwise, use one of the scents presented. They are guaranteed without animal ingredients.
Brooklyn Soap Company: The Woods

As a reminder: from 15 percent, a fragrance may call itself perfume, between eight and 15 percent it is an EAU du perfume, between four and eight an EAU du toilette and a cologne. From an essence de parfum one speaks from a fragrance oil content of 20 percent.
Jean & Len: Highlands, eau du toilette

Rituals is one of the cosmetics manufacturers who pay attention to a particularly fair production of their articles. This is how the products B-Corp are certified. According to its own statement, the B-Corp is a non-profit organization that checks how sustainably and transparently a company produces its products and whether it does justice to its social responsibility.
Unfortunately, Rituals does not explicitly declare its perfumes as vegan, but offers its customers about the one to ask directly whether a certain product does without animal ingredients. Don’t worry: no deer had to die for the fragrance.
Jean Paul Gaultier: Le Male Pride

- Basic notes: musk
Le Male by Jean Paul Gaultier is one of the absolute classics among men’s fragrances. And it is available in numerous special editions, such as this Pride edition. It is a rather sweet fragrance. And of course is also vegan.
Heretic: dirty vanilla

- Basic notes: Patchouli, sandalwood, styrax, vanillin, vetiver
