Queen Máxima became an eye -catcher on the first day of her state visit in the Czech Republic. She showed herself with an expansive hat.
King Willem-Alexander (58) and wife Queen Máxima of the Netherlands (54) officially started the program of their state visit in the Czech Republic on Wednesday. “In the Prague President Palace, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima received a welcome ceremony,” says the Dutch Royals. “After playing the national anthems and the inspection of the honor guard, the royal couple will have conversations with the Czech President Pavel and his wife Eva Pavlová.”
In a clip, Czech President Petr Pavel (63) and his wife Eva Pavlová (60) can be seen when they were greeted. The latter rely on a bright red outfit, but the attention was optically on Queen Máxima. The 54-year-old appeared in an elegant midi dress and combined a matching hat. The model almost completely covered one side of her face. The hat apparently not only caused a limited view. The queen took the headgear several times to move it back.
Divided tasks
The royal couple ended up at the Václav-Havel airport in Prague on Tuesday. The state visit should “strengthen the bond of friendship between our countries,” explained the Royals, who held the arrival. “The Netherlands and the Czech Republic work closely within the European Union and NATO. We pull together, learn from each other and strengthen each other.” During the state visit, topics such as defense, trade or energy are to be discussed.
The Instagram contribution also explains: “King Willem-Alexander will return to the Netherlands after the first day of the state visit. He has decided this in response to the developing political situation and the fall of the cabinet in the Netherlands. Queen Máxima will also take part in the second day of visiting.”
