Queen Camilla performed lively “moss people” at an event in London.
A very kind of handshake: Queen Camilla (77) caused hearty laughs when she visited Eden Dock in London’s Canary Wharf when she met two people in green moss costumes. “Hello, can I give your hand?” Asked the queen politely before lying to the two people and asked curiously: “Can you see through these costumes?”
The two shapes wrapped in Moos then shook their heads and covered their eyes with their leafy hands – which led to hearty laughter with the wife of King Charles (76). The Eden Dock, a green oasis in the heart of the Canary Wharf business district, is a project to promote biodiversity. There are numerous permanent moss sculptures installed there, all of which have humanoid forms.
Big stage for charity event
Camilla was enthusiastic about the green project in the heart of London. She admired the lively, biodive room with its floating islands and the human-shaped moss sculptures: “It is an incredible place, I see him for the first time, he is extraordinary,” she said. The Eden Dock was opened last October and developed by the charity organization Eden Project and the Canary Wharm Group.
Queen Camilla visited the project on Wednesday as part of her first “Big Lunch” as a queen. She has been the patron of the charity initiative “Big Lunch” since 2013, which was launched by the Eden Project. The initiative brings various communities together through street festivals, park picnics, garden grill parties and gatherings in community halls, schools, faith centers and jobs.
In an elegant black and white dotted dress by Fiona Clare with a cream-colored trench coat jacket, Camilla defied the uncomfortable weather at the Kai in the British capital. During her visit, the queen also took part with 40 other guests in a community dinner, in which she listened to personal reports on the positive effects of the “Big Lunch” on the residents of the Tower-Hamlets community.
