After five months on the high seas, Princess Leonor reached New York as part of her military training.
Princess Leonor (19) reached the last stage of her military marine training trip after five months. As the Spanish royal family reports, the 19-year-old arrived in New York. “The training ship ‘Juan Sebastián de Elcano’, on which the Princess of Asturia is on the 17th training trip for Ensign, is in New York,” says a contribution that shows Leonor together with other cadets in white uniforms when the ship arrives.
the ship reached the Big Apple one day earlier than planned. There are now several program items for the heir to the throne in the metropolis – including a visit to the event “A Musical Fantasy From Spain” in the Carnegie Hall. Her royal family in Spain will only see Leonor again in the coming week: According to the report, she should fly back on June 10th.
Princess Leonor started her military training two years ago
The Spanish heir to the throne opened on January 11th for the boat trip, where she “crossed two oceans and visited ten ports in eight countries in America”, as the Catalan daily “La Vanguardia” reported at the time. The trip with the sailing school ship is part of the three -year military training, which her father, King Felipe VI. (57), once completed.
Previously, Princess Leonor had already completed the Spanish army for a year before moving to the marine. She will be officially adopted there in mid -July. After the summer vacation, the third and last stage of her military training begins: the last year of training will be completed by the Air Force, where she is trained as a pilot, among other things.
