John Fogerty’s fight for recovering the right for the authorship of his songs

Fogerty himself had been involved in one of the Copy struggles more infamous in the history of the music industry, while looking to recover the property of its catalog from the hands of Saul Zaentzowner of the CCR record label, Fantasy Records. Finally, in 2023, Fogerty reached an agreement with Concord, current owner of Fantasy Records, acquiring a majority participation in the CCR editorial catalog.

“During most of my life, I did not own the songs I composed.”Fogerty declared. “Recovering them changes everything. Legacy is my way of celebrating it: interpreting these songs in my way, with the people I want.”

Fogerty produced the new album with his son, Shane Fogertywhile John’s wife and representative Julie FogertyIt was the executive producer. Shane and his brother Tyler Fogerty they play on the album, along with Matt Chamberlain, Bob Malone, Bob Glaub and Rob Stone.
