In an interview, Leah Remini speaks openly about her friendship with Jennifer Lopez – and clears up with the alienation rumors.
Leah Remini (54) commented on her friendship with Jennifer Lopez (55). The two actresses have been friends for over 20 years. In recent years, however, rumors have repeatedly arose that the two had become increasingly alienated – not least because Remini 2022 was not present at the wedding of Lopez and Ben Affleck (52). However, Remini now makes it clear that the friendship still exists.
“Immediately after the divorce, we wrote loving news full of support,” Remini now explains in an interview with the US magazine. In August 2024, the actress made her marriage to Angelo Pagán (57) public after 28 years together. Jennifer Lopez also separated from Ben Affleck in the same year – after only two years of marriage.
Leah Remini: “Friendships fluctuate”
In addition, the “King of Queens” actress made it clear that there was never a break between her and Jennifer Lopez. “Sometimes you don’t talk to people every day, but that doesn’t mean love is lost. Friendships fluctuate. That doesn’t mean we have disputed,” said Remini. They appreciate all their friendships and “have many friends with whom I don’t talk every day”.
Singer supported Leah Remini at Scientology exit
Leah Remini and Jennifer Lopez got to know each other at an event in 2004 and have been a close friend since then. Lopez was particularly supported by her friend in a difficult phase: In 2013, Remini left the Scientology organization after almost 35 years – a step in which she was supported by the singer. Two years later, Remini told how much her Lopez meant during this time: “She told me that I should keep the good things and continue with love. She doesn’t judge.”
