Encounter with Harry and Meghan’s wedding choir

King Charles met the Kingdom Choir at the SXSW Festival – those singers who performed at the wedding of Harry and Meghan.

King Charles III. (76) On Thursday morning in SHOREDITCH, of all people, faced the Kingdom Choir. It is the gospel choir that had sung with Meghan Markle (43) at the wedding of his son Prince Harry (40) seven years ago. A fateful encounter in times when the relationship between the monarch and the sussexes remains tense.

The choir received Charles with a performance at the South by Southwest London Festival (SXSW London) in Ely’s Yard. Pictures show the British monarch – protected against the typical English rainy weather with an umbrella – laughing in conversation with Eva Omaghomi, one of the choir leaders.

Memories of happy times

With its touching interpretation of “Stand by Me”, the Kingdom Choir provided goosebumps moments at the royal wedding of Harry and Meghan in St. George’s Chapel from Windsor Castle. At that time everything was still in the best unity in the British royal family. The wedding is considered a turning point today: only two years later, the couple resigned from their royal duties and left Great Britain towards California. Since then, the fronts between Harry, his father and brother Prince William (42) are considered extremely hardened.

When they meet again with the wedding singers, Charles did not show anything. The SXSW London is a cultural, technology and creativity festival that supports aspiring artists and innovative projects through discussions, exhibitions and networking events- a matter close to the heart for the king, who is committed to promoting young talents.

In addition to the Kingdom Choir, the 76-year-old also awaited political sizes: British Vice Prime Minister Angela Rayner and London Mayor Sir Sadiq Khan welcomed him to the event.
