Björn Ulvaeus is one of the “B” s in Abba and wrote the hits of the Swedish pop quartet with Benny Andersson. Now Ulvaeus has found a new song partner according to his own words.
ABBA star Björn Ulvaeus can be helped with the music writing of an artificial intelligent (AI). “At the moment I am writing a musical with the help of AI,” said the 80-year-old according to the US industry leaf “The Hollywood Reporter” at an event in London.
AI is a great tool, said Ulvaeus. But she also has her flaws: “A misconception is that a AI can write an entire song. It is miserable – very bad. And thank God!
Passion for digital technologies
When asked how artificial intelligence cuts off compared to his ABBA partner Benny Andersson, he jokingly said: “She is faster and does exactly what is told.” But it is not the same to have a real songwriting partner.
Ulvaeus and Andersson wrote the Abba hits “Mamma Mia”, “Waterloo” and “Dancing Queen” together. Ulvaeus has a pronounced passion for digital technologies. He is particularly fascinated by artificial intelligence – and its impact on the music industry.
