English cult band: concert film: Depeche Mode surprised with a new song

The English synth-rock band Depeche Mode surprised with a new song when you presented her concert film at the Tribeca Festival in New York. Visitors to the film “Depeche Mode: M” identified the song that was played on Thursday evening (local time) immediately enthusiastically as a song that was unknown to date.

The piece that can be heard on a recording X published on platform X allegedly bears the title “In The End”, it said on the fan page “Depechemode.de”. The music magazine “Rolling Stone” also reported on the film premiere and the new song.

The band after the death of keyboarder Fletcher

The movie “Depeche Mode: M” shows impressions of the concerts of the legendary electrical band in Mexico City in the years 2023 and 2024, after the album “Memento Mori” was released. It was the first album that singer Dave Gahan and songwriter Martin Gore brought out without a founding member and keyboardist Andy Fletcher. Fletcher died unexpectedly at the age of 60 in May 2022.

At a panel discussion after the film presentation, Gore confirmed that the song played is one of the four songs that were recorded for “Memento Mori”, but ultimately did not select for the album. Gore jokingly jokingly added that he had no shimmer that should happen with the other unpublished songs. So far, the Sony record label has not commented on the request whether the band is released.

Depeche Mode (“Enjoy the Silence”, “People Are People”, “Just Can’t Get Enough”) was founded in 1980. The band sold a sworn fan base and more than 100 million sound carriers. In 2023, “Memento Mori” was one of the most successful albums of the year in Germany.
