The conscription in South Korea forced the very successful K-Pop band BTS for a break. In a few days, four singers will end their service at the army. Does that mean a comeback?

Four singers of the seven -member Boygroup BTS will end their mandatory service at the South Korean military in the coming week. As reported by the Yonhap news agency, citing management, the members RM and V will be released from duty after 18 months next Tuesday and a day later.

The agency asked fans not to get to the respective places and instead send their support for the four “from their hearts”. For security reasons, no public event is planned on the occasion of the discharge.

In South Korea, all suitable men have to do military service for 18 to 21 months. The seven BTS members are between the end of 20 and early 30th Jin and J-Hopes have already had military service. For June 21, Rapper Suga is expected to have completed his community service, alternatively to military service.

The military service had therefore delayed a comeback from the group until at least summer of this year. The band was rumored in 2022 that it could dissolve, after announcing a longer break.

BTS is one of the most successful groups in South Korean pop music, which is also known as K-POP under the collective term. With hits like “Dynamite” and “Permission to Dance”, Boygroup had stormed the charts. She published her debut single “No more Dream” in June 2013.
