Netflix shared the first advanced and confirmed the release date of the director’s film Rian Johnson Wake Up Dead Man: A mystery of Knives Out.

During an appearance at an event for Netflix Tudum fans on Saturday (May 31), Johnson, who wrote, produced and directed Knives out (2019) and the sequel Glass Onion: Knives Out Mystery (2022), confirmed that the third installment of the series It will arrive in Netflix on December 12, 2025.

He also presented the first advance of the new film: a progress of a minute in which Benoit Blanc, played by Daniel Craigapparently investigates a murder related to Christian religious rituals. The advance includes the evocative song Bluegrass of Ralph Stanley“Or Death”.

In addition to Craig, Wake Up Dead Man has a huge cast, including Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Daryl McCormack and Thomas Haden Church.
Wake Up Dead Man: A mystery of Knives out will reach theaters?
Last November, Craig expressed his desire that Netflix would give Wake Up Dead a wide cinematographic premiere. Speaking to Variety, when asked if he wanted “Wake Up Dead Man” to be screened in cinemas for a longer time than his predecessors, Craig replied: “You know yes.”
Glass Onion, the last installment of Knives Out, had a cinemas premiere, but was only available on the big screen for a week before transmitting exclusively on Netflix.
