From a remote courtyard in the Eifel to the city of Hamburg: singer Thomas D has moved. This is how he likes it at the new place of residence.
Thomas D (56) from the hip-hop group The Fantastischen Vier dared to restart again. The musician has moved north from the tranquil Eifel and now lives in the second largest city in Germany. In Hamburg, however, he apparently settled in well, as he told the “NDR Talk Show” on June 6th.
“Hamburg is a pearl”
“I very much appreciate the Hamburgers, their way, slightly reserved, but very friendly,” he enthused from his new adopted home on the talk show on NDR television. “Hamburg is a pearl, we have a lot of green here and the lot of water is great.” The move does not seem to be so easy for him. Because: “I lived in the Eifel for 25 years, as I always say, on the ass of the world, but it’s a very nice ass. So I loved to go there every now and then, I have a music studio there.”
But now he is new in Hamburg – and that apparently for the sake of his family. “My wife and even my two children didn’t want to stay in the country, I’m the only country egg in our family. So I moved to the city, the most beautiful city in the world.” For his new, urban place of residence, the native of Stuttgart can also get tips from his bandmate Smudo (57), who has lived there since 1996.
Thomas D had already raved about the Hanseatic city and its inhabitants in April. The Hamburgers are not cool at all, as they are often said, but “warmly”. You would not impose yourself. “You meet wonderful people here. Helpful, friendly, correct, you have style.”
In 2024 the band celebrated their 35th anniversary
The band, which still includes Michi Beck and And.ypsilon, has been known as the Fantastischen Four since 1989 and had with the song “Die there!?!” from 1992 her big breakthrough. On July 7, 2024, the musicians celebrated their 35th anniversary. Her eleventh studio album “Long Player” appeared in October, on which they worked for five years.
