John Legend celebrates stage anniversary. In Germany, however, the party is economical: there is only one concert – and the number of fans is manageable.
US music star John Legend gave his only Germany concert in front of a not even half-full hall. According to the organizer, only around 3,300 fans came to his appearance in the Munich Olympic Hall, in which up to 15,000 spectators can have space. Although about half of the hall was left behind with black curtains, many ranks were still empty.
But that did not detract from the mood. The audience celebrated the 46-year-old, who performed with a background choir and band-but especially the most when he was sitting and sang alone at the piano: goosebumps at his song “Ordinary People”.
He wrote parts of it in Germany, he let his audience know – inspired by his parents, who were divorced for the second time. Ordinary people.
Kanye West? – “It’s complicated”
The husband of model Christine Teigen celebrates a big anniversary with his tour: he has been on stage for 20 years. And he also looked back on this career in Munich.
He listed important companions-including the now very controversial US musician and ex-husband of Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, whose label John Legend was under contract earlier. “Yes, it is complicated,” said the 46-year-old after there was some boo calls in response to West. “We miss the old Kanye.”
“I love Munich,” said legend to the German press agency before his concert. “We have been there several times in the past few years and have always had a wonderful time.” And he also enjoys looking back at his career: “It was just fun and was also associated with a little nostalgia to go back to these songs, of which I haven’t played for a long time,” said the singer of the dpa. “It’s almost like turning back the clock for 20 years.”
After about two hours, he ended the concert with the most emotional moment of the show and his biggest hit, the ballad “All of Me”.
