Gisele Oppermann emigrated to Brazil. In the interview, she talks about her new life and a possible return to Germany.
Together with her eleven -year -old daughter, Gisele Oppermann (37) recently emigrated to Brazil. In an interview with the news agency Spot on News, reality TV awareness and former “GNTM” candidate about her new life in the coastal town of Jericoacoara-and her plans for the future.
They emigrated quietly and secretly. How are you currently doing?
Gisele Oppermann: I’m great. It feels like I have finally arrived. Every day sun, warmth every day. I have already settled in really well.
What makes your country of birth so special?
Oppermann: I did not grew up here and I don’t know life here yet. When other cockroaches or lizards see it, this is normal for them. I am real afraid of the cakes. (laughs) I am confronted with my fears, but of course there are also many beautiful pages – how life works here, the culture that everyone is simply so warm. Life takes place here. I and my daughter ride regularly, I can switch off.
Do you miss Germany?
Oppermann: No. I always bought fresh, I sometimes miss that. But there are so many fresh fruits here – they alone make up for everything. The topic of Germany has been completed for me, returning is out of the question. It was clear to me from the start: if it doesn’t get anything in Brazil, let’s see where else it could go. My daughter liked Dubai, but Dubai is not a country for me to emigrate. Dubai is too hot for me and there is too little nature. Portugal or Cyprus would be possible.
How is your daughter moving?
Oppermann: I think children always take something like that. She misses a bit of the math lessons and her friends with whom she played during the break. Especially their best friend, but they have contact with each other online. But here, too, she finally met a good friend, they see each other every day. She takes online lessons here and then it goes to the pool or the sea. She takes Capoeira lessons three times a week and wants to learn to surf – that’s just nice. For me that would be nothing.
Have you already made new friendships or professional contacts?
Oppermann: Definitely. I got to know someone here quite important. Then I spontaneously went to a radio station, I talked to them – everyone is very friendly here. Let’s see what else is coming. Friendships, however, rather less. But I have a lot of relatives here. I am not interested in a new partner. I am happy and go fully in my mother role. We can enjoy the time together so nicely and just live.
What professional plans do you have in your new home now?
Oppermann: I can well imagine opening a German-Italian restaurant. I can cook well, I can bake well. And I have already heard here that German home cooking is well received – especially sauerkraut and isses. But I also know what the restaurant business brings with it. I would lack the time with my daughter. That’s why it is a project that I don’t want to start tomorrow or next week. I have just published my first book and are currently writing two more. I am currently doing an astrology training online. And I definitely continue reality TV. I want to do something different than modeling, it was just the same. Even if it was fun, I have already lived my dream.
You have been on reality TV for years – how do you perceive the current developments? In many formats it seems to be increasingly about outdating each other with dramas.
Oppermann: I also notice it. Everyone now exaggerated – just because they want to watch TV. For me it is the bottom drawer that people want to notice at all costs. I always react to the feeling, depending on the situation – nothing is played. I will not turn my back on the reality TV – I’m the only real drama queen. (laughs)
What do you want privately for the future in Brazil?
Oppermann: I want to buy at least two horses here. This is a big dream of mine. But I still don’t know if I will implement this this year, it also has time. My daughter wishes another dog. I would like to fulfill the wish – but only when our bitch is with us.
