“Trooping the Color”: ZDF broadcasts birthday parade for Charles

In Germany, the birthday parade in honor of the British king can be seen live on ZDF from 11 a.m. to 2:35 p.m. and on the transmitter. According to the palace, more than 1,400 soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians take part in “a large spectacle of military precision, riding art and fanfares” every year to celebrate the ruler. The route usually runs from the Buckingham Palace via the boulevard The Mall to Paradeplatz Horse Guards Parade. The ZDF correspondent Wolf-Christian Ulrich will comment on this year’s military parade. After the demonstration, the king traditionally shows the people with family members on the balcony. From there, the Royals also see a flight of the Royal Air Force.
