Kate Beckinsale files a lawsuit against the producers of “Canary Black” due to dangerous working conditions and serious injuries.
Kate Beckinsale (51) leads a bitter legal dispute against the producers of her latest film “Canary Black”. , the actress filed an extended lawsuit at the Supreme Court of Los Angeles on May 21. In it, she accuses Anton Entertainment and producer John Zois of negligence, assault and intentional inflow of mental suffering.
Dangerous working conditions on the set

In December 2022, Beckinsale was seriously injured on the knee during an action scene and had to be operated on due to a complex meniscal tear. Production was delayed by two months. When she returned with a medical certificate in February 2023 to run, step, dive or hang on a belt, the team supposedly disregarded these instructions.
Agent raises the alarm: “You try to kill a person”
E-mails between Beckinsales team and the producers who are part of the lawsuit show the extent of the frustration. Beckinsales Agent Shani Rosenzweig wrote to producer Zois: “Nobody takes real steps to create a plan so that something like this never happens again.” She accused those responsible that Beckinsale appeared on the set on time, but the only one does not know that a 15-hour day of shooting or longer.
In drastic words, the agent called for immediate action: “If you try to kill a person, you do a great job.” According to the lawsuit, Zois replied: “I don’t know what else to say, except that you are right.” He agreed that the shooting days had to be shortened and the pace was “not sustainable”.
Apparently it did not happen. The result: Beckinsale suffered from further injuries, “including worsening and tightening of their existing injuries, which would have been completely avoidable,” said the lawsuit.
