Oasis enclosed their argument and soon go on tour together. Liam Gallagher now writes from a wasted time.
After more than a decade full of public quarrels, Liam (52) and Noel Gallagher (58) will finally be on stage again. Last year, the legendary Britpop band Oasis announced its reunion tour-a moment that numerous fans had always hoped for, but which was still surprising.
Liam Gallagher now speaks open with his brother after all the years. “It is spiritual, but I can’t stop thinking about all the lost years – what a waste of precious times”, when asked by a fans, what it feels like to sing together with his brother again.
Another fan wanted to know from the musician how Liam experiences the renewed public focus on himself and Oasis: “All eyes on you and oasis again. Pressure or just a normal week?” Liam takes it calmly: “I wouldn’t do it if it were pressure. I’m not such a soul.”
The long-awaited comeback tour
The big reunion tour of Oasis starts on July 4th in Cardiff in Wales. After several concerts in Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin, a handful of shows go to Canada, the USA and Mexico, then back to London. The tour then leads the band on to Southeast Asia, Australia and finally back to South America. On November 23, the tour ends in São Paulo.
In August 2024, the scales announced that they got along and wanted to go on stage together again. “The weapons are silent. The stars have aligned. The long wait is over. Come and see. It is not transferred on television,” said the band at the time.
The Gallagher brothers originally started in 1991 as an Oasis and catapulted themselves to the top of the Britpop scene with hits such as “Wonderwall” and “Don’t look back in Anger”. Despite their huge success, the relationship between the two was shaped by conflicts. Numerous public arguments finally led to a break and the band resolution in 2009.
