There was no agreement in the recovery procedure against Harvey Weinstein.
The renewed trial of Harvey Weinstein (73) is considered ended, but there should still be another hearing in July. After Weinstein was guilty of sexual assault, the other two charges did not lead to guilty verdict. The allegation of rape to the former film mogul could be negotiated again.
In the re -admission procedure against Weinstein, which denies the allegations, negotiations on the allegation of rape on Thursday ended without any result. The process was declared invalid in this indictment point, reports, among other things.
Chairman of the jury is said to have been threatened
Weinstein was accused of having forced the film producer Miriam Haley (48) and the model Kaja Sokola (33) for oral sex. On Wednesday he was guilty about the sexual assault on Haley, in the case of Sokola there was no guilty verdict.
In the third indictment point, a suspected rape of actress Jessica Mann (39), there was no judgment. The twelve -member jury was to decide on the third case on Thursday, but the chairman of the jury refused to continue the consultations because he felt threatened by other jury. “Oh, we’ll see them outside,” said the magazine after several jurors had not managed to change him in his decision.
The sentence has not yet been announced. After the trial was declared in the third point, the public prosecutor also announced that it intended to complain again in this case. Mann is also “ready and willing”. A corresponding hearing was placed on July 2. Meanwhile, Weinstein’s lawyers would have announced that it would appeal against the conviction in the first point and to investigate a possible misconduct of the jury.
The original conviction of Weinstein around five years ago was the decline of one of the most influential people of Hollywood. The renewed process was set after a court of Weinstein’s conviction to 23 years in prison from 2020 due to procedural errors. Weinstein is still in prison in New York because he was sentenced to 16 years in prison in a further trial in California.
