A new update for the Internet browser Google Chrome should close four serious security holes. Updating the end device to the new Chrome version is highly recommended in order to avoid possible hacker attacks.
Google regularly updates its Chrome Internet browser. With a new update, for example, the browser can get new functions; an update is not always necessary. But this time all Chrome users should update the app as soon as possible. Because the current update closes a serious security gap. Apparently there have already been successful attacks.
New Chrome update closes four security holes with a “high” alert
The new Chrome version 91.0.4472.114 for Linux, macOS and Windows closes a serious security gap. Google itself has given the vulnerability CVE-2021-30554 a “high” threat level. It is said that “exploit code” is already circulating on the net that can exploit the vulnerability. According to the specialist portal “heise”, successful attacks should lead to memory errors (use after free). In this way, the malicious code can then reach the end devices and cause further damage.
The Google developers have also plugged three other vulnerabilities (CVE-2021-30555, CVE-2021-30556, CVE-2021-30557). They are also given the “high” alert because of the possibility of a malicious code attack.
How to update Google Chrome
