From June 10 to 13, 2025, the National Library “Mariano Moreno” It becomes the scene of a deep and plural tribute to one of the most emblematic voices of Argentine culture: María Elena Walsh. Under the title “The rupture”The event displays an academic, artistic and performative program that proposes multiple readings of Walsh’s work, crossing axes such as feminism, poetry, children’s literature, music and journalism.

With free admission, the days are made in a form face -to -face and with live broadcast on the YouTube channel of the National Library. The activities also accompany a permanent exposure that shows the richness of the multiple supports in which Walsh left his mark.


A space for dialogue and thought
The event opens a space for masterful exhibitions and reading experiences around the different audiences of María Elena Walsh. Researchers, teachers, artists and cultural managers present their reflections under six thematic axes: Walsh in doctoral research, Walsh and feminism, rupture and innovation in children’s literature and poetry, The music, The family and Journalism. The objective is to promote interdisciplinary dialogue and the exchange of approaches to an author who knew how to break molds from all her creative fronts.

The exhibition “María Elena Walsh in all its formats” accompanies the event until August 3 in the Treasury room and 3rd floor of the National Library. Books, archives, photographs and audios reveal the immense legacy of the artist, available for adults and boys from Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and weekends from 12 a.m. to 7 p.m.
