Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia: Daughter Princess Ines celebrates baptism

A bright day in Stockholm: The little princess Ines experienced her first big appearance in front of the world public on Friday with just four months. The daughter of Prince Carl Philip (46) and Princess Sofia (40) of Sweden was baptized in the magnificent castle chapel Drottningholm – on the tenth wedding day of her parents.

The guests, accompanied by the military band, met at the castle from 11 a.m., the ceremony began at 12 noon. In addition to the Swedish royal family with King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel with their children as well as Princess Madeleine and their family, Sofias sisters Sara and Lina Hellqvist were also present with their families.

Oberhof preacher Bishop Johan Dalman and court chaplain Michael Bjerkhagen led through the service. Photos show how the bishop Ines in her white baptismal dress, which was already wearing her great -grandfather, stretched up while her parents shine all over her face. Ines’ older brothers Prince Alexander (9), Prince Gabriel (7) and Prince Julian (4) even helped prepare the baptismal water, Papa Carl Philip read a prayer.

Princess Sofia provided the emotional highlight. The song “Till Mitt Sista Andeag” (“to my last breath”) opened the ceremony. The special thing: text and music come from Sofia itself – with exactly this self -written love song, Sofia surprised her husband exactly ten years ago at her wedding. As now, it was presented by the Swedish singer Molly Sandén and her colleague Danny Sauckedo.

Princess Sofia beamed even more than usual on her tenth wedding day today: for double the occasion she chose a calf -length ruffle dress in the trend color butter yellow, plus a color -fitting hair -ready and high heels.

Her three sons appeared in a sweet partner look: everyone wore white shirts with gray jackets. Prince Carl Philip held by Julian in his dark blue military uniform when she posed for the photographers while his wife carried her freshly christened daughter in his arms.

In addition to Taufling Ines, the focus was also on Princess Estelle (13), the daughter of Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel. The day before the baptism, the royal family announced that it will be five godfather’s first of Ines Marie Lilian Silvia – and the role now filled the role with obvious pride.

In a pink dress with white flowers, the teenager even had to push a tear on the altar when she blessed her cousin. After the ceremony, number two of the succession to the throne shone happily next to her own godfather Carl Philip – which she almost ended up – into the cameras.

After the ceremony in the church, the day for the Swedish Royals continued with a reception for invited guests, followed by a private lunch.
