“I feel that the theaterists and those who make art have a place of resistance and try to see what we can do to change something. At the country and world, because everything is dehumanized,” says Monica Felippacreator of the historic group Libertabllas who directs “After after” starring Laura Otermin and written by Paula Simkin. An intimate and current piece about links, mandates and elections that can be seen on Fridays at 20 in the Teatro El Crubia, Malabia 611.
After having spent some love adventures the most important couple that a woman had, contacts her with the intention of returning. This is the trigger for Mariana to travel his last years and decide on the next. The work arose after the end of the stereotypical roads traditionally indicated for a woman. We talked with Felippa.
Journalist: What attracted you to the text to want to direct it?
Mónica Felippa: I have known Paula for a long time for “Libertabllas” my group of 45 years ago for childhoods and adolescents. I didn’t know that Paula wrote, knew her theater, and spent her text to read it. I indicated things that seemed to me from my actress and director, I suggested issues. From there I got hooked in the direction and we worked the text between them actively to put it on stage. Everything was over with the excellent actress.
Q.: What are the topics of the work?
MF: It is the story of Mariana and his ex, with whom he lived until he leaves her. He returns five years later to want to know how she is and investigates for a return to the relationship. The work begins with Esteban’s speech, there he explains what he lived in that relationship, she listens to him and something shoots. The famous question appears “how I got to this situation.” The protagonist travels through different relationships, some more superfluous than others, and I think he manages to complete who wants to be. While the work addresses the female world, they could also be questions for the male world. The work gets with the mandates that imposed us as women, has humor and is nice to see.
Q.: What can you say about the setting?
MF: We did it among the actress, the stage, which came to two or three essays and contributed what we wanted. I ordered because from outside it is organized but the dramatic game is traveled between Laura and me.
Q.: How do you see the theater?
MF: I see it alive, like Trinchera, says an actress who traveled official theaters, ten years in San Martín and eight in Cervantes. But I dedicate myself to Independiente and theater is what resists attacks against culture. Anything of culture is said is like a voucher everything. I am a 65 -year -old woman, I take the profession as a job, it always was, since I decided to be an actress. I set up a group to live from the profession, which is not easy, I trained a lot to do what I do. We support the Campaign in defense of the INT, which is being bastard with lies, refinancing it and an onslaught that will feel more inside. Without the Federal will die. The provinces had the possibility of making their shows. We were in the hug to the INT, we must remember that independent rooms, especially are in a critical situation if the institute disappears.
