Andrea Kiewel misses her anniversary in the ZDF “TV garden”

Due to the military escalation between Israel and Iran, moderator Andrea Kiewel misses the next issue of the ZDF program “TV Garden”. The 60-year-old actually wanted to celebrate her 25th anniversary in the live broadcast on June 15th. In 2000 she took over the moderation of the cult format. But Kiewel has to cancel, two prominent men jump for them.

“Joachim Llambi and Lutz van der Horst represent Andrea Kiewel in the ‘ZDF television garden’. They were already planned as guests of Kiwi, now they are jumping as moderators,” said ZDF. Kiewel had told the DWDL media service in advance about her anniversary program: “I personally look forward to the anniversary program with my incredibly good friend Joachim Llambi and the fantastic Guido Maria Kretschmer by my side. That will be a brisk threesome. That means so much to me.” But the show must now take place without it.

Kiewel has lived in Tel Aviv with her partner, a former Israeli elite soldier, since 2017. The “Bild am Sonntag” once said about her second home in Israel: “In the” television garden “season, I usually regulated it so that I went on the plane at 6 p.m. on Sunday and open my small apartment in Tel Aviv at midnight (…).” Now Kiewel is no longer coming to Germany. Ben Gurion International Airport at Tel Aviv is closed to all departures and approaches until further notice.

Kiewel was also in Tel Aviv when the terrorist organization Hamas Israel attacked on October 7, 2023. At that time she was looking for refuge in the shelter of her apartment.
