He already played Muhammad Ali and the father of Williams sisters Serena and Venus. He can also imagine a presidential role. Before that, Will Smith has other plans.
Hollywood star Will Smith can imagine embodying ex-US President Barack Obama on the screen. “I would definitely consider playing President Obama,” said the 56-year-old in an interview with the German Press Agency in London.
At first he wanted to concentrate on his revived music career, according to the star, who recently published a new hip-hop album entitled “Based on a True Story”, with which he is now going on a European tour and was also running in Germany in July.
First grammy for rap ever
The German fans should know him primarily as a film star, Smith estimates. “I almost see it as if I was a new artist. I imagine the German fans this time as a musician – and exclusively as a musician,” said Smith, who was the first rapper to win a grammy in 1989 in 1989.
As a solo artist, he published a total of five studio albums and stormed the charts with songs like “Men in Black”, “Gettin ‘Jiggy Wit IT”, “Miami” and “Wild Wild West”. Appearances are planned in Hamburg, Hanover, Frankfurt, Wolfsburg, Bern and Sankt Pölten.
Dance scene from “Prince of Bel Air”
Smith also revealed that he wants to transform his most successful social media post with almost nine million likes on Instagram into an insert on stage.
He does a legendary dance scene from the successful series “Prince of Bel Air” with his former Casting colleague Tatyana Ali (Ashley). Both dance to the song “Anxiety” by US singer Doechii, who recently also comes into the picture and dances. “In any case, there will be an anxiety moment on stage,” said Smith.
Smith can also imagine musical cooperation with Doechii. “Oh, I would love to do that,” he said, adding: “We have already talked about it and sent a few tracks back and forth.” There is no certain song yet, but he would be there immediately, he assured.
