Films, series and documentary: streaming tips of the week

A man without nerves, a man without money worries and a man without alternatives.

“The Accountant 2” (Prime Video)

The action thriller “The Accountant” from 2016 received a sequel. The film with Ben Affleck has been available on Prime Video for a few days. Under the direction of Gavin O’Connor, Affleck returns in the role of brilliant but closed Christian Wolff. When an old acquaintance is murdered and a cryptic message leaves the order to “find the accountant”, Wolff is a duty. Since he realizes that stronger measures are necessary, he recruits his alienated and extremely deadly brother Brax (Jon Bernthal) to help him. Together with the deputy director of the US Ministry of Finance, Marybeth Medina (Cynthia Addai-Robinson), you can find a fatal conspiracy and become the target of a network of killers. These people don’t shy away from anything to hide their secrets.

“Clym – money with gaming” (ARD)

His hobby made him rich: Gamer Clym alias Patrick de Rijk developed with his company Cyberwave Computer Games Made in Germany. In addition, the 30-year-old often earns five-digit sums a month as a streamer. Minecraft streams and the format “Build the Castle” on Twitch and YouTube, he published his first computer game in 2021, the puzzle adventure “Hourglass”. A crowdfunding campaign to finance his new game “Solarpunk” brought in ten times the intended sum. This time the “Money Maker” series tells the exceptional development of the young entrepreneur from North Rhine-Westphalia and offers exciting insights into the world of computer games. “Money Maker: Clym – Money with Gaming” can now be streamed in the ARD media library.

The comedy series “Stick” tells the story of the dismissed professional golfer Pryce Cahill (Owen Wilson), whose career came to an early end 20 years ago. After the failure of his marriage and the loss of his job in a sports shop in Indiana, Pryce puts everything on one card: a 17-year-old golf talent named Santi (Peter Dager) with a difficult character. “The warm-hearted feeling comedy series shows an unusual election family and their relationships in the world of golf, as it has never been shown before,” advertises Apple TV+ for his series that has now started.

“Tattoos – puzzle of the South Sea” (Arte)

South Sea tattoos still fascinate people worldwide. They were created on the most remote island group on earth: the Marquesas. What is the magic of these tattoos? The first part of the four -part documentary series “Tattoos – puzzle of the South Pacific” immerses in its tragic history: a legend says that the moody creator god Tiki comes back to life in the tattoos. But his story was almost wiped out, only splinters of old myths have been preserved. The young Marquesan Heretu wants to solve the puzzle. For this he gives up his old life and becomes a work of art himself. The documentary is now in the Arte Mediathek.
