Kaulitz documentary: love and water damage in LA

With “Through the Monsun” the Kaulitz twins were already famous as a teenager. Water also plays a major role in the new consequences of her reality documentary. A lot of water.

They call each other “mouse” and have an infectious laugh: Bill and Tom Kaulitz – already at a young age with their band Tokio Hotel (“Through the Monsun”) in the spotlight – talk about private and intimate things weekly in their podcast “Kaulitz Hills”.

The two also do not take a leaf out of their mouths when there is a camera. On Tuesday (June 17th) the second season of her reality documentary “Kaulitz & Kaulitz” starts on Netflix.

In the eight new episodes, it is – once again – about Bill’s lovesickness. After a manner that is unexpected in public with Ballermann singer Marc Eggers (“Ober part”), Bill is once again a single.

His big brother (Tom was born around ten minutes earlier) is worried and tries to couple Bill.

He speaks openly about his love and sex life and is often emotionally, as in the final episode. “A lot of my friends asked me why I don’t let some things cut out and why I want to tear open scars again,” Bill told the German press agency at the premiere in Berlin. “But I just think that if you got something in, then you have to spoon out the soup.”

One of the most interesting moments is a dispute within the band, in which bass player Georg criticizes the Kaulitz twins for understandable reasons. “There is no long-term, strategic planning and orientation at all. Above all, the band. Your projects, TV projects and the podcast, that takes up so much space that is no longer a place for the rest,” he complains at a meeting in the band room.

During the preparations for the upcoming tour in Berlin, the Kaulitz brothers will be confronted with an unexpected news from their adopted home Los Angeles: After a water pipe break, large parts of Bill’s house were destroyed, including Tom’s recording studio. “My first speakers, my guitars, my devices – everything is broken.”

It is these unplanned moments that make “Kaulitz & Kaulitz” so worth seeing. The musicians from Magdeburg, who are mentioned as “creative consultants” in the credits, often come across humorously and honestly in their TV format.

But you can definitely ask yourself why you should have a lot of pity with Bill’s fate. Because it often relishes the luxury in which he lives.

So he has several trees fell in his garden to treat himself to an XXL pool – although he is reluctant to swim. Tom can only shake his head over the project and calls his brother “megalomaniac”. Some spectators should definitely agree.
