Cher (79) has to worry again: Elijah Blue Allman (48) was brought to a hospital in the US state of California on Saturday due to a drug overdose. That in reference to “sources close to the matter”.
According to “TMZ”, Elijah Blue Allman is still in the clinic. According to the report, he was very lucky to survive the overdose. What drugs were in the game is not yet known.
He took drugs for the first time at the age of eleven
Elijah Blue Allman has known the fight with drugs for many years. In 2014, he reported that he had had initial experience with intoxicants at the age of eleven. First he consumed marijuana and ecstasy, later he also used heroin and other opiates. At that time he said to be clean since 2008.
In the interview, Elijah Blue Allman also revealed that he had survived an overdose several times. “I had a few scarce situations and moments when I saw death several times,” he said at the time. “I always tried to be reasonably careful – but you never really can do that in such things.”
Cher failed in 2024 with a request for guardianship
Only last year, Cher tried to take over the guardianship for her adult son in court. The Oscar winner was afraid that the regular payments from the trust fund of his late father could tempt him again. But the application was rejected: Elijah Blue Allman had his finances under control and was drug -free, it said in January 2024. The parties then agreed out of court.
In autumn 2023, rumors also made the round that Cher tried to have her son kidnapped. However, the singer decidedly rejected these allegations.
Elijah Blue Allman comes from Cherer’s second marriage to Gregg Allman (1947-2017). From 1975 to 1979 the musician was married to the singer and keyboardist of the Allman Brothers band. Cher is also the mother of Chaz Bono (56) from her first marriage to Sonny Bono (1935-1998).
