Judge Arun Subramanian had noticed inconsistencies in the past week regarding information on the residence of the 41-year-old man. First, the jury stated that he was living with his fiance and daughter in the Bronx, and another jury later told the man that he had recently moved to New Jersey. Elsewhere, the 41-year-old stated that it would live on an aunt.
The judge had already said last week that there was serious doubts about the sincerity of the jury. For him, the different information could indicate that the man might want to mislead or gloss over things. This could indicate a “personal agenda”.
Before the court announced the decision on Monday, the lawyers from Combs had appealed – on the grounds that the rap mogul was significantly disadvantaged by the exclusion of the black jury. The indictment rejected hints of the defense and explained that decisions were not made according to skin color. Subramanian finally decided to replace the jury.
In the much -noticed process in Manhattan, Sean “Diddy” Combs has had to answer to court since the beginning of May – for sex trade, blackmail and promotion of prostitution. Among other things, the rapper is accused of alleged sexual assaults and outbreaks of violence, Combs denies the allegations. The public prosecutor’s office will be able to will be able to present the case to the court this week. The process is expected to take several weeks.
