After her cancer, Kate took part in the Order-of-the-Garter ceremony and supported husband Prince William.
After the “Trooping the Color” celebrations from the weekend, King Charles III. (76) and his wife Queen Camilla (77) as well as Charles’ son Prince William (42) and his wife Princess Kate (43) completed another public appearance. This Monday, June 16, the traditional procession and ceremony of the Order of the Pants took place.
The Garter Day is an honorary day for the members of the order of the trouser. In the traditional costume of the Order of the Knights, its members and the Royals from Windsor Castle march towards the St. Georgs chapel to attend a service. The order was made almost 700 years ago by King Eduard III. (1312-1377) donated. In addition to the monarch and the Prince of Wales, the “Most Noble Order of the Garter” can only belong to a maximum of 24 members. The appointment lies in the sole discretion of the monarch to recognize public services or personal services to the crown.
Return after absence last year
Princess Kate was not present at the ceremony last year. After she was still present at the “Trooping the Color” military parade, she apparently had to be careful due to her cancer treatment. The 43-year-old beamed again on the side of her husband, with whom she drove up in a carriage.
While William and the royal couple showed themselves in the traditional costume of the order with blue velvet walls and hats with a draining pen, the princess chose a white look of self-portrait, which she had already worn at a concert last May. With the ensemble with top skirt, she combined an elegant hat from Sean Barrett and a five -row pearl necklace and the matching earrings.
Kate pursued the procession with Duchess Sophie (60). Her husband Prince Edward (61) and Princess Anne (74) took part in the ceremony, both also wore the dark blue velvet trough with red sash and hats with a lush ostrich spring.
For the Royals there is another traditional event in the summer calendar: it is expected that members of the royal family will be able to visit the Royal Ascot, the annual horse racing, as guests of honor. It takes place from June 17th to 21st.
