The family of US actor Bob Saget (1956-2022) has filed a lawsuit against Orange County Sheriff John Mina and the District Nine Medical Examiner’s Office just over a month after the comedian’s death.
In the court documents, Saget’s widow, Kelly Rizzo, and his three daughters, Aubrey, Lara and Jennifer, are suing authorities to prevent the further release of documents related to the 65-year-old ‘Full House’ star’s death. In the lawsuit filed on Tuesday, the family asked that the investigation be kept confidential because it would cause “irreparable damage in the form of extreme mental pain, anxiety and emotional distress.”
Saget’s survivors have also asked for an injunction while the court decides whether to permanently block the release of information about his death.
The defendants have not yet commented on the lawsuit.

In a statement last week, the family confirmed that the US star died of complications from a head injury. Drugs and alcohol were not involved, it said. He was found dead in his Orlando, Florida hotel room on January 9.
