Princess Amalia had to be operated on after a fall from the horse. Around a week later there is a public appointment again.

The Dutch Crown Princess Amalia (21) will make a royal appointment again after her riding accident and a subsequent operation. The Dutch royal family announced this Monday, June 16. Accordingly, the public appearance with her father, King Willem-Alexander (58).

“His majesty of the king will present the new standard to the Huzar Prince Catharina-Amalia regiment on Wednesday afternoon, June 18, in the Prince-Bernhard barracks in Amerersfoort. Her royal highness, the princess of Orania, will also be present,” says the Royals. During the ceremony, the king will inspect the troops and then accept the standard of three regiments who were merged into the Huzar Prinses Catharina-Amalia regiment in 2020.

For the further course of the program, it says: “The new standard is then awarded and the march of the Huzar Prince Catharina-Amalia March is played. After a speech by the king, the national anthem will be sung. At the end of the ceremony, the king and the princess of Orania speak with some regimental members.”

Princess Amalia had broken the upper arm on June 10 when the horse falls. The Royals announced this on the same day in a statement. On June 11, the Dutch royal family gave an update in a message. Accordingly, the daughter was successfully operated on by King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima (54) in the UMC Utrecht. “The operation went smoothly,” it said. The princess remained in the clinic for monitoring until Thursday.

Amalia’s hospital stay made changes to the royal schedule. “The summer photo shoot in the Palace Huis Ten Bosch, which was intended for Thursday morning, June 12, will be postponed to June 30,” said the royal family. Queen Máxima’s personal calendar was also adapted for June 11th. She did not take part in the CGAP Congress in Amsterdam. Willem-Alexander came without his wife in the evening to open the 78th edition of the Holland Festival for Theater, Dance, Fine Art and Film in Amsterdam.
