Popular TV cook dies at the age of 55
Shock in the USA: The popular TV cook Anne Burrell died unexpectedly in her New York house. She was only 55 years old.
The American strong element Anne Burrell died at the age of 55. The television personality was found unconscious on Tuesday morning (June 17) at 7:50 a.m. in her house in Brooklyn, New York, as a spokesman for the New York police department explained.
The cause of death not yet known
U.S. media also report that the emergency services had arrived at the scene of the accident immediately, but the rescue workers were only able to determine death. What Burrell died of has not yet been announced, and the investigation continues.
The family of the popular cook published an explanation published in various media. In it, Burrell is described as “beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother and girlfriend”. “Her smile illuminated every room she entered.”

The moderator of “Worst Cooks in America” began her culinary career shortly after completing her in English and communication at Canisius College in New York. In 1997 she completed her studies at the Culinary Institute of America and then spent a year in Italy at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. She then cooked in several restaurants before taught at the Institute of Culinary Education.
The author of “Cook Like A Rock Star” started her career on television in 2005 when she appeared as a sous boss at “Iron Chef America”. Three years later, she received her own show, “Secrets of a Restaurant Chef”, which was broadcast for eight seasons until 2012. The cooking series “Worst Cooks in America” celebrated its premiere in 2010 and was moderated by her together with Beau MacMillan. Burrell was part of the series for 27 seasons and developed into a fixture in the food network. Her youngest show was the “Food Network’s House of Knives” competition, which was broadcast in March.
Burrell leaves her husband Stuart Claxton, with whom she has been married since October 2021.
