Ariana Grande: Grandmother Marjorie died at the age of 99

Ariana Grande (31) brought her fans a sad news on social media: her grandmother Marjorie (1925-2025) has died. The musician shared an Instagram story of her mother Joan (68), who announced: “We are destroyed that the beloved matriarch of our family died. Marjorie (Nonna) Grande died peacefully in her house and was surrounded by her family and her loved ones at every moment of her last weeks.”

She also thanked everyone for “love, support and respect for our privacy while we mourn and celebrate her beautiful, extraordinary life”. The grandma of the pop star was 99 years old, in October she would have celebrated her 100th birthday.

Ariana Grande also reminded of Marjorie Grande. “Forever,” wrote the singer to a black and white photo on which her grandmother can be seen at her wedding with her husband Frank. Under the article, numerous stars like Jessie J (37) and her former “Victorious” colleague Elizabeth Gillies (31) mourned with the musician.

This was very close to her grandmother. Grande took her regularly to events and could be heard with her on the song “Ordinary Things” from her album “Eternal Sunshine”. Marjorie Grande set up a record: At the age of 98 she became the oldest person who made it into the Billboard 100 charts.

Her brother Frankie Grande (42) spoke up in his own post. “You always called me your eyeball, Nonna, and you were always mine. My best friend. My safe harbor”, that shows him and his grandmother over the years. “I miss you more than expressing words. My heart is broken, but I feel that you are awakening about me and that you are so proud of everything I have done and what will come,” he added, among other things.
