Mia Julia for a long time did not see what it happened to her at the time: a rape. “I didn’t understand that this was a rape for a long time. I thought that rape would look different,” she admits the “picture”. It was only years later, by talking to her today’s husband Peter, that she became aware that sexual violence can also take place in a relationship.

This late knowledge also explains why she did not file a complaint at the time. “I would definitely do that differently today,” emphasizes the singer. Her message to other affected women is urgently: “I can only advise every woman who has happened something similar: defend yourself, show the guys and do not begin to blame for it!”

Mia Julia himself surprised the reactions to her brave mail – and frightened. “I received many letters from young women after my post,” she reports. “I am scared of how often it happens.” At the same time, she emphasizes that she is not concerned with a blanket conviction of all men, but about a clear message: “Nobody has the right to touch a woman against her will or to do something with her.”

The traumatic experience of that time left deep traces – physically and mentally. “I still have scars from it today. One on the body, the other on my soul,” explains the entertainer. “It broke me and I’m still working on healing today!”
