At the premiere of his film “28 Years Later”, Aaron Taylor-Johnson casually fuels the rumors about the James Bond Succession. Director Danny Boyle also comments on the topic of 007.
The British actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson (“Bullet Train”, “Nosferatu”) re-sparked speculation about engagement as a new James Bond actor. The 35-year-old has long been a hot candidate for the coveted role as 007. At the world premiere of his film “28 Years Later” in London, Taylor-Johnson was asked by a “Deadline” reporter what his next project was. His answer: “I can’t talk about that.”
Fans see indications of 007 future
In social media, fans rated the brief statement as another indication that Taylor-Johnson succeeds Daniel Craig and will soon play the famous secret agent. A month ago, a sensation had caused a sensation that the actor was introduced as the new brand ambassador to Omega – James Bond’s famous watch brand. Some fans suspected that that could not be a coincidence. So far, these are just speculation.
In February, the long-time producers of the James Bond films, Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, announced that the creative control over the popular film series in family ownership in Amazon MGM Studios after more than 60 years. The experienced producer duo Amy Pascal (“Spider-Man” trilogy) and David Heyman (“Harry Potter” series) will be responsible for the next James Bond film. A start date was not known.
So far no decision about director – and actors
Four years after the premiere of the last 007 adventure “no time to die” (“No Time to the”), fans are looking forward to news. So far, neither a director nor a screenwriter has been announced. Both usually happen before choosing the main actor. Reports in British tabloid media, according to which Aaron Taylor-Johnson has already signed a James Bond contract, should therefore be freely invented.
Taylor-Johnson worked with success director Danny Boyle (“Slumdog Millionaire”) for the horror sequel “28 Years Later” (cinema release: June 19). Boyle was originally supposed to direct the last Bond film before resigning because of creative differences. When asked whether he could imagine making another 007 film, Boyle laughed in the “Deadline” interview and said: “You should never say.”
