Rainer Langhans will be 85th his greatest wish: peace with his former great dear Uschi Obermaier.
Together they formed one of the most famous couples in Germany at the beginning of the 1970s: Rainer Langhans and Uschi Obermaier (78). On June 19, Langhans, formerly a member of the municipality I in the then West Berlin, became 85 years old – but instead of pure joy, melancholy dominates. The Munich -based Munich person has a longing for prostate cancer: he wants to reconcile with Obermaier, his great love from the wild 1970s.
The scandal from 2007
“She was a great love and it is still,” admits Langhans. The pair of poster pair of the 68 movement was together from 1970 to 1973 and shaped an entire generation. But for almost two decades, icy silence between the two cult figures has been silent.
Langhans dates back to 2007. “Uschi shouted at me on the phone so that I still have it in my ear today,” he recalls painfully. According to Langhans, according to Langhan’s 78-year-old Obermaier: “She accused me of living a different life than her. At our last meeting in Munich in autumn 2022, she said to me: ‘You are a macho. You don’t do what I say.'”
Rainer Langhans wishes for a hand oak
In 2021 Langhans received the diagnosis of prostate cancer. “He is not curable, but I currently have no pain, no symptoms and no metastases. I feel good,” he reports bravely. The disease has given his desire for reconciliation additional urgency.
“We are now at an age when we should go hands. One day it is too late for it,” the 85-year-old appeals. But his attempts to approach the resistance of Obermaier failed. “She has difficulty hearing or speaking. That’s a shame.”
The great love of once
When Rainer Langhans and Uschi Obermaier met in 1968, he was 28, 22 years old. “Back then I was very attracted to her lust for life, her beauty and nature,” Langhans still enthuses today. Together they became the central figures of the German hippie movement and embodied an entire era.
