Concern for Armani: Modemacher canceled appearances

After a stay in the hospital, the Italian has to do without the fashion week in Milan. He can be represented on two dates – for the first time in his career.

Care for the Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani: The 90-year-old had to cancel his traditional appearances at the end of the current fashion shows in Milan. His group justified the waiver of the two appointments with the fact that the designer had to be careful after a hospital stay. “Mr. Armani is at home. He’s fine. But he prefers to collect his strength with a view to his next dates in Paris.” The Fashion Week in Paris will take place from July 7th to 10th.

The group did not comment on the reasons for the stay in the hospital. So far, it was also not known that Armani had to be treated in a clinic. According to information from the Italian news agency Ansa, it is the first time in his entire career that Armani does not go on the catwalk again at the end of a defile. Armani will be 91 years old on July 11th.

For the first time another at the end of the fashion shows

The first Armani show as part of a men’s fashion week is this Saturday-so the cancellation was at very short notice. The second appointment will take place on Monday. In Arman’s position, one of his closest employees, Leo Dell’orco, is to step in front of the audience. The group emphasized that the founder and sole owner worked on the collections despite the time in the clinic with the usual dedication. “Even if he cannot be physically present, he will watch every phase of the organization carefully.”

The Italian has been one of the most important fashion designers in the world for decades. After the first years in which he worked for other houses, he founded his own company in the mid -1970s with his partner Sergio Galeotti: the Giorgio Armani Spa. That was the nucleus of a group that is worth many billions today. The money initially came through fashion, then also through cosmetics, watches, jewelry and hotels. Since Galeotti’s early AIDS death in 1985, the company has only belonged to Armani.

Estimated private assets of seven billion euros

The private assets of the fashion designer are estimated at seven billion euros. Around the globe, 9,250 employees today belong to the group, more than 2,000 businesses with annual sales of more than 2.3 billion euros.
